Jesse’s Thoughts On Our Post-Covid Real Estate Market
October 20, 2020 /If you had told me at the end of March that neither the virus or the stay-at-home orders would have a negative affect on the real estate market, I wouldn’t have believed you. Our team saw about $2.5million in sales disappear in less than a week after the stay-at-home order was issued, with no possibility of any of it returning. We ended up having to lay off all of our employees, if only temporarily, and was only able to hire them back when our PPP loan came through. Like many of our peers that are self-employed or in the service industry, I was preparing for the worst. What happened instead We started calling our clients, not asking if they were thinking of buying and selling, just to check on people and make sure that they were doing ok and if there was anything we could do to help. People were glad to hear from us, glad to talk about their concerns, and eager for any updates we might have for them in the future. Don’t get us wrong, these advances in communication make our job in real estate that much easier, but there is still something special about receiving a card in the mail. During quarantine, we put a pause on our typical real estate focused conversations with our clients.
