However, there are several Bothell mainstays that continue to satisfy locals and newcomers alike. In particular, Bothell has enough eateries and bountiful beverages to satisfy the most ardent Foodies. Alexa’s Cafe, for example, is a popular, family-run establishment offering delicious breakfast and lunch options. The cafe is also a committed member of the Bothell community and caters multiple events throughout the year, including weddings (the cafe’s slogan is “Eat, Drink, and be Married”). Additionally, Hillcrest Bakery serves a bounty of baked goods based on family recipes brought over from the Netherlands in the 19th century. If you’re hankering after some old fashioned drive-in fare, look no further than Ranch Drive-In. Just off Bothell’s main street, this institution has been offering delicious burgers and shakes for decades. Finally, if you want to eat and shop in the same location, Bothell’s Country Village offers a diverse range of shops and restaurants (and even the Bothell Farmers Market) in a beautifully landscaped setting.
Bothell also enjoys considerable access to pure and unspoiled Northwest beauty. The Sammamish River winds its way through the city, and residents enjoy access to the Sammamish River Trail, a popular, nearly 11 mile biking and walking path that runs from Blyth Park in Bothell to Marymoor Park in Redmond. Kayakers often paddle the river, while a dedicated equestrian path runs alongside a majority of the walking and biking path. Close by, the Park at Bothell Landing is a popular attraction close to the river offering playgrounds, picnic areas, plenty of trails, and much more. And, for those of us who like to enjoy the great outdoors without working up a sweat, Bothell hosts free concerts through its Music in the Park series every Friday in July and August.
